Impetus-Striction Formalism and the Numerical Integration of Constrained Hamiltonian Systems

Description: This paper seems to become an endless story. For more than two years it has now been "almost" finished... Basically, just some numerical calculations are missing. It will present a new, purely Hamiltonian point of view of the impetus-striction formalism proposed independently by Ruhoff et al. (Odense) and Maddocks et al. (Lausanne). I will also discuss how one can construct symplectic integrators for the arising equations of motion.
